Gravity hills

There are supposed to be several places around the country called "gravity hills". These are hills that people found by accident that if you are at the bottom and your car stalls, it will roll up the hill to the top. Or alternately, If you come to a complete stop and put your car in neutral it will do the same. I'm not talking about a big hill but surveyors have gone to these places and found them not to be optical illusions. Others say they are. They did a story about them on "Unsolved Mysteries". Anyone know where one is?

Well, I know of quite a few in the Inland Empire area of Southern California - San Bernardino & Riverside Counties. There is a book called Weird California (and I'm sure one for other states, as well), that lists at least 10 if I'm not mistaken :)

There's one in Florida, called Spook Hill. RIght next to Spook Hill Elementary School, their mascot is the Ghost.

These hills are not steep by any stretch of the imagination. Some are all of a 1.5' drop, and not a serious incline, but the fact remains that the car will roll upwards if in neutral. Weird.

I got out and stood on the spot at Spook Hill and did feel a sort of magnetic pull, or a sensation comparable to going down a hill really fast, but not as intense.
